Baltik is a ready to assemble, customizable standing computer desk. After realizing it’s healthier and more comfortable to stand instead of sitting while working, I decided to design my own custom desk. My design features hardware free assembly and custom shelf heights. The baltic birch plywood components are cut out via a platform CNC router from CAD generated DXF files.
After a few months of trial and error, I finalized my design and was able to assemble the desk free of any hardware or tools. With this success I was motivated to commercialize the idea which led to the creation of a brand name and identity. I will be adding Baltik to the Artefacture product line and offer it as 3D print kit. I still use the prototype pictured above to this day.
